About Green Sugar Press
Green Sugar Press is dedicated to nourishing youth with the wonders of the natural world by publishing books for children from toddlers to pre-teen. We introduce young children to a warm and fuzzy nature. Early readers explore a fascinating and diverse nature, and environmental science mesmerizes middle-schoolers.Growing Green Minds
Green Sugar Press exists to ensure that our future leaders understand Cheerios don’t come from a box, milk doesn't come from a plastic bottle, water doesn't come from the tap and gasoline doesn't originate at a pump.
To understand the environment is to know its connections. Like letters build words and words build stories, the environment is made up of countless pieces and parts. Each plays an important role. Remove one and it changes the entire story.
The story of the environment is one that provides the real stuff of life: the air, the water, the food, and the beauty. Green Sugar Press delivers that information into the hands, hearts, and minds of those who matter most, our children.
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
–Albert Einstein
For a Better Today and a Stronger Tomorrow
Most of us now live in urban and suburban settings where losing track of our intimate connection with nature is easy. At the same time, we’re fast approaching 7B humans and our global demands on nature and its resources are growing even faster. Now more than ever the human species needs to find time to reconsider our relationship with nature. When we begin to make sense of how our lives and nature are linked, we put ourselves in the position to make informed, logical decisions.
And as we learn the lessons nature teaches, and become more informed, we search for cleaner energy, more effective transportation, better tasting food and a better quality of life. As we choose a better life for today and for tomorrow, life as we know it will change. It will be a revolution. The good news is “The Green Revolution” has begun.
Get on board. Get your child involved and get your kid hooked on nature.
About the Name ‘Green Sugar Press’
While we seldom think of it, plants support all life. By putting together air with sunlight, plants use green chlorophyll to make a “green sugar.” This sugar is the foundation of what feeds everything on earth.
Green Sugar Press publishes stories about the connections found in nature- connections that originate with the work of plants.
